Grupotel Nilo - Peguera, Spain 

Our second time here but not the last. You can gather from other reviews that the clientele are almost exclusively German and they demand high standards, which are definitely available at this hotel. The staff always seem surprised (and pleased) to hear English spoken and all seem keen to talk to us in English. They are, without exception, all very friendly, polite and helpful. The maitre de in particular is very welcoming and goes out of his way to make all the guests feel important. For a four star hotel this has the best food I have ever had. The range and standard could not be faulted and the 'Live Kitchen' is better than any I have seen. If you like a bit more space go for an apartment, these are very generously sized. The extra cost is not great but you do have to cross the road for meals. Peguera is a nice town with a good range of shops ,nice beaches and no rowdies but be prepared for the locals to assume you are German. We'll be returning in September.
