Perhaps one the worst hotel experiences ever. The front desk clerk was rude and arrogant. When I asked to speak with a manager she stated she was the GM even though her name tag had no title. That was the start. Our room was dirty, the place smelled like stale swamp water. Our toilet didn't work, when I called to complain to the front desk a woman answered, (I assume the same one who checked us in) she hung up on me. One can only hope that in this economy that hotels like this will go out of business. If you stay there expect nothing but bad customer service, shabby, dated and dirty rooms.

Check in / front desk
6.0
We stayed 3 nights while visiting San Diego. Got this hotel on Hotwire and have to admit I was disappointed.
Reviews were not good so we didn't have much for expectations. We were in a room close to the freeway so had a hard time sleeping because of the constant vehicle noise - thank goodness I brought ear plugs which helped somewhat.
Rooms are very much in need of attention - not in cleaning but in general repair. Peeling paint, torn carpeting, etc. Towels were like sand paper and very thin.
On the plus side the on site restaurant Adam's Steak and Eggs served an EXCELLENT breakfast! We ate there a couple of times because it was that good and the service was great.
You get what you pay for and at $53/night that's exactly what we got - not much!
