Stay Away For The Sake Of Your Health & Sanity!!

Having been recommended the hotel by Hotels.com and having told them it was important that the place was nice as it was for my director, we were appalled to find that upon entering there was a sign over 'reception' stating that asbestos removal was taking place in the hotel - something not mentioned on their website or by Hotels.com over the phone...And we hadn't even seen the rooms yet. These were worse still, with mouldy shower curtains, wires hanging out everywhere, noisy works going on that could be clearly heard, bedsheets that looked as though they hadn't been changed since the last guests had been there. What is worse is that we had had to pay for the room upfront and were told that no refunds would be given. Surely the state of the rooms and the total lack of information provided about the asbestos amounts to gross mis-selling by the proprietors?! We contacted Hotels.com who told us to contact the hotel directly who never answered the phone EVER! Hotels.com have so far sorted out a 50% refund but like all of you, we are still waiting for the rest. Wish i had known about Trip Advisor before this booking was made!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR HEALTH, SANITY (AND IN MY CASE) YOUR JOB!!

Myself with a party of 10 other girls went to New York for a girlie shopping spree. Believe it or not these apartments came recommended - on arriving at the apartments we were greated with the most horrid smell of gas. On paying a visit to the reception we were advised "oh its only the pilot light - it must have gone out" he stated when he finished the paper work he would follow us up and sort it out, Ten minutes later we returned to the reception to inquire about some bulbs as the apartment had only 2 lights working.oh yeah he gave us bulbs but told us he had only 2 to spare for the entire apartment block - still he hadnt came to sort out the pilot light. We opened windows in the hope that we could at least sit in the apartment until he decided to arrive. He arrived with some matches and told us to keep a check that the pilot light did not go out again - what did he want us to do work in a rota basis as to who was going to stay awake to check it. we thought this was a total joke - to make matters worse we had actually booked 2 apartments - enough was enough and we decided to try and get somewhere else this place was this pits and some where actually throwing up with the gas smell. Fortunately for us a friend sat on the phone for an hour trying all hotels within the vacinity but when you mention 11 people need accommodation it was near impossible. Luck was on our side the Edision Hotel came to the rescue - all i can say to anyone thinking of staying in these apartments is stay clear - if you have to pay that little bit extra pay it no other accommodation can be worse than this - on checking out the apartments we found mould in the bathroom - the floors were filthy and the tiles were cracked - wires were hanging from everywhere - it was freezing - hey what a n awful experience but if someone reading this takes notice at least ive helped in making their visit more memorable - so if you want a good time in newyork do not go near the Woogo Midtown- i didnt spend one night in this dump and yet they charged my credit the full amount stating that i would need to contact customer care to request the refund- and yes they have guaranteed me a full refund but im still waiting -

I was booked to stay here in dec 07, there was six of us and we were very concerned after reading some pretty horrible reviews, however i cannot praise this place enough . We had realistic enough expectations as i had stayed in NY before and paid a premium , the apartment was huge and clean. It felt like home away from home for all of us. The staff were extremely helpful and i look forward to staying here again with my family. I have already recommended this place to friends. it is not a five star hotel , it does not have room service and i hoped it would be like an apartment in a spanish resort , it was so much more , excellent location ..... I wouldnt even dream of staying anywhere else in NY now that i have found this gem.......
