Morningside Inn - New York City, USA 

I was hesitant to stay here with all of the other reviews I read, but I found the hotel to be clean, close to public transportation and the staff took care of us. We had a deluxe room with our own bathroom. While the room was small, everything was functional and quiet. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and would stay here again.

We paid on cash at the desk - DO NOT DO IT! When they wrongly gave us tiny room with only one bed (we were 2), personal even gave us one extra bed, but it should not change for upcoming 2 nights. Imagine, that after that, there was no space for luggage left in the room. After short sleep and morning bad experience in dirty community bathroom, we decided that we are leaving hotel and will not remain any other single night there. Till this point, personal was nice on us, and trying to help us. From this point, manager - Patric started yelling on us, that we have f**cked up HIS new year's eve!! ..that he has to come from his home to arrange the better room for us etc. First days Patric didn't want to refund us our money back (of course, with deduction per one night we stayed and one night cancelation fee - a standard policy). After I started argumenting with Customer Fraud office, he was willing to refund the money back. We were repeatedly told that credits would be processed and of course we travelled there every second day to pick up our money (money were comming, money were on way, Patric was travelling somewhere, money should be here next days etc) . We were lied 6-7 times about this and never got our money back!!! Even though we left there adress, email everything, there was no will to contact us! They've STOLEN our money! Patric is arogant and laying. If you try argue, you are told that you are not showing him respect and that you should shut up and let him talk. He was shouting on my girlfriend and that she should never talk with him, just me! If you are not will to meet all this stated above (and mentioned by many other reviewers), STAY AWAY!! Look for other hotel without bullying management.
