New York Helmsley Hotel - New York City, USA

My Mum and Dad and My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August. I had researched the hotel on Trip Advisor and was pleasantly surprised to see that MOST of the comments left were positive. I can only endorse this sentiment1 The hotel was very clean and welcoming. We were staying on the 29th floor and our room had a superb view of the Chrysler building. I could hear traffic but that only added to the feeling of being in the 'city that never sleeps!' This was our first time in New York and the atmosphere was electric. We were totally over whelmed with the whole experience. The hotel was perfect for Grand Central Station and we were more than thrilled with the service. We didn't think that the $18 (before tax) breakfast at the hotel was worth it so we toured every morning to the Pax Deli next door. The staff there are courteous and the food is wonderfully fresh - good value too. This was a perfect start to our three and a half weeks in the USA. We went to Florida for the rest of the vacation. The New York Helmsley is worth a return visit!

We had a great stay here and would not hesitate to use priceline in the future. hotel was nice, the staff were quite friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. location was great, walking distance to central park, Times Square.

The New York Helmsley was very clean and in a safe and convenient area. The King Size Simmons bed and bedding were amazingly cozy and comfortable. It was so nice to come home to a clean room each evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. They hailed us cabs, helped us use the business center, gave us umbrellas and cleaned our rooms when it was convenient for us. I understand the Lobby and Restaurant/Bar are under construction which was just a slight inconvenience. I look forward to staying at the New York Helmsley again once all renovations have been made. I'm sure it will look gorgeous!

all in all ok, due to reconstruction I just saw hotel room, elevator and reception. Cleanness of hotel room (esp. bath room) could be improved.I expected Docking Station for ipod, unfortunatley it wasn't there. But Wifi was there - great to look things up quickly!
