The hotel is in a great location. The room was more like an apartment with full kitchen, living area, bedroom & bath. The only cons were that there was no valet parking (there is a parking garage down the street but it was hard to carrying our bags), and the sofa bed would not pull out so my girls had to sleep on a cot that had a permanent indent in the mattress so there wasn't much sleep for them. Get a 2 bedroom if you have more than 2 people in your party.

This was like staying in a rented apartment! It was better than my apt at home! The rooms were clean and beautiful rooms! Loved having kitchen and living room/dining room along with the bedroom and bathroom! Has a continental breakfast each morning with the regular of cereal, bagels, pastries, waffles and fruit. It was always clean too. Has free internet service which was great! The hotel staff was always helpful and friendly! Easy walk to 51st subway station! Close to many of the midtown sites! Just plan on noise at night when you are trying to sleep(so bring your i-pod).

The Best Western Hospitality House is a friendly, casual hotel. Our room had a fold out sofa bed, and 2 bedrooms. The rooms themselves let in hardly any light in the morning and late afternoon, so we always had a light on in the sitting room. The beds are quite comfy. The decor is very old fashioned. The staff are friendly and helpful. Its in a fantastic location, just down the road at the waldorf astoria there is a hop on hop off bus tour, which brings you around downtown NYC. Its a loop, so it starts at times square, ends at Times square. There are 2 gorgeous Italian restaurants on either side of the entrance. Caffe Linda, and San Martin (San Martin Is the best marginally). There are Supermarkets nearby, and plenty of shops. The safe in the room is a bit tricky to use at first, but its easy enough to get the hang of it. You get free Muffins, Danish Pastries, Bread, Cereal Coffee and Tea in the rooms. You also get a small-ish carton of Fruit juice. The fridge is very reasonably sized. One thing is the air conditioning is very old and noisy, and it may keep you up at night if you have it on. Overall this hotel is great!

With three *ahem-something* pals in tow in a town just beginning to heat up for the summer. The BW HH came up trumps with a bargain bucket price for a two bed apartment in the heart of mid-town. Fifty quid a night per person was the main reason we chose this place and I would have been happy to pay a fair bit more by the time we left. The apartment was near faultless, with the only real issue the continuous NY traffic noise. Be warned light sleepers WILL need earplugs and if you don't take them it WILL ruin your stay. Breakfast in-house was just generous enough and especially if you don't have the time or inclination to sit in a local diner for an hour. The welcome carton of Ben and Jerry's was a delicious treat after a long flight and the fresh fruit and juice as good as any morning antedote to one to many Martini's. You won't find any bells and whistles at this place, but the rather small dour reception, pokey lift and tiny hallways hide the real gems which are the apartments themselves. Having stayed at two other NYC hotels and two other aparthotels. This beat all four for space and all but the Algonquin for location. You can tell it was an old residential block as no space is wasted on swanky marble floors and bejewelled doormen. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful though and best of all inobtrusive. Only a few words to add on the locality, the italian restaurant next to the hotel (not cafe Linda or the pizza place, but the next one) was a good enough place to down a jet-lag beer and bowl of pasta and the staff were lovely too. Cheap, cheerful, cold beer, hot pasta, nothing fancy would be my best description of the place - oh and the biggest flower arrangement I have ever seen. Back to the hotel though, in summary, just book it, get out and about in this fantastic city and enjoy the bonus of not sleeping in a rabbit hutch. I'd be amazed if anyone regretted a stay here (ok anyone other that those that want five stars - if you do then start saving for 1000 bucks a night and stay elsewhere)

We could not believe our good luck at finding all this space in a NYC hotel. The hotel room was huge and the breakfast food ample. We had four beds for four people. Even better was the attitude of the staff- store our luggage? No problem. When I told them that we were coming from all over and wanted to put all the names on the reservation so anyone could check in- Not a problem. And, when my plane was delayed and I asked them to pass on a message- they did it right away. It is walking distance to everything. It is clean. It is not "fancy". nancy j
