This was my husband and my 15 year old daughters first time in in New York City. Last minute plans were made via priceline, recieved and excellent rate. The hotel was perfect for our needs. People were extremely friendly. We parked a block away not at hotel parking for a cheaper rate (coupon). We bought a one-day metro pass and the rest of the time we walked. We were in NYC for 2 nights and did quite a bit. Hotel was a great location and very comfortable to sleep in both nights. Very close to grand central station, places to eat, etc.

A very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Restaurant located in hotel has good breakfast. Variety of good restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Variety of things to do within walking distance.

The hotel was spotless, the staff very professional, the rooms were large and very well appointed, the restaurant was yummy

Hotel was great. Good location a couple of blocks from Grand Central Station subway. Good neighborhood. Clean and very nice size for New York room. I don't recommend hotel restaurant as slow service and expensive for what you get. Also, hotel advertises travel baskets for free. Four types to choose from and we called 3 times trying to request, each time told they would delivere and never arrived, in 7 days we were there. They are done with their remodeling now.

We got a wonderful deal on a suite at the just-remodeled Affinia Shelburne: two good sized, tastefully appointed rooms with two big, handsome bathrooms. This could be split comfortably by two couples: one would sleep on the pull-out couch, which was not bad at all. Nice furnishings and amenities, with a sort of oblique view of the Empire state building out the window! Any services that we asked for arrived promptly. I have not rated the business or gym facilities as we never even looked for them. As you are just blocks from Grand Central Station, Times Square and Bryant Park, I'd say just get out and walk for fitness. In -house dining is limited to a very good fancy burger and wine place downstairs. This is a moot point in mid-town Manhattan. This is really a great base for a NYC visit.
