5The hotel lobby clean, well air conditioned & modern looking. Reception and door staff very friendly. Check in went without a hitch. However room on the 3 rd floor A/C would not cool beyond 76 degrees. One sleepless night later we requested that someone take a look while we we enjoyed the city. Upon a late return to our room, it was obvious that they had sent someone up - however not that they had managed to fix the faulty A/C. Oh dear, another sleepless night - this time with the window open to every siren. and noisy group of folks that passed (Saturday on E50th st.) Next morning we requested a move of rooms, and the reception staff were very accommodating. We were offered a new room on the 2nd floor, that appeared to not only have A/c that functioned but that was also bigger (King bed), with larger open areas by the door. The rest of our stay was just fine, We received a good amount of help on our last day as the taxi/airport transfer company tried to jip us out of our return journey (DON"T USE SUPER SHUTTLE services - not unless you enjoy the nerve racking experience of not knowing whether your transport is going to turn up or not, then taking 1.5 hours to get to Newark from the E side seems they prefer to collect cruise passengers and jilt the prepaid hotel stayers in favor of them. Great hotel, great location!
