0I am a business traveler and selected this hotel due to it being only 2 blocks from the office I was visiting. Upon arrival, I was notified that the hotel had changed hands and was under renovation. When I got to my room (executive room per front desk - 8th floor) I knew why they told me this. My room had walls and ceiling paint peeling everywhere. The lighting was a joke. With ever light on, you couldn't get enough light to read the newspaper. A light in the bathroom was out (I just had to screw it back in - but don't you think Housekeeping would have noticed that?) The towels were thread bare. Kmart has better towels. Accessibilty for anyone in a wheelchair would be difficult. My room was up 3 steps, so I do not understand how that would be handicap accessable. When I arrived, I went uptown and came back at night - there was a homeless person sleeping in front of the building. Even though it is wintertime, the heating/ac would not push out any acceptable air. Had to open the window (no screens - so pigon paridise!) (Note, there is scaffolding surronding the hotel since it is under renovation) On the plus side, it had a nice size fridge, full size microwave. Subway is close - 3 blocks up. I felt very comfortable at night in the area otherwise. Some good restaurants, you just have to find them.
Staff was pretty friendly, as long as you can get them to come out from the backroom.
All in all, stay away, at least until the renovations are completed
