This hotel has some serious customer service problems....hence.. Booked room 3mths ago, after a long day of travel, no room, waited another 40mins for them to find us a room which was on the 4th floor very close to a loud generator. We got moved the next day to another room but no apology. Gift shop sells international stamps at .94cents for postcards which is fine but they charged us $1.20 per stamp, service charge as they put it. Coffee shop, make sure you introduce yourself to the bald headed cashier, never met anyone as grumpy and as rude, never ever said thank you. The kicker is; a $3 charge per luggage if you need to store it if your flight is later on during the day after you checked out. Most major hotels store them as a courtesy for their guests. This hotel gouges you for whatever they can get you for. The hotel is dirty, carpets are soiled, and it smells damp. The maids are very friendly and greet you every morning, wish the rest of the staff is like them....security guards think they're "gods". I would never stay here again.....period!

We stayed here on our second christmas is Newyork, and despite its tarnished appearance it wasn't all that bad!! The room we were located in was one of the old style rooms, that had yet to be updated and this showed, the 1980's decor and the neon red sign located right outside our window gave the whole room a gangster movie theme, and i half expected the mafia with violin cases to burst in at any point!! The staff were friendly and efficient and the complimentary breakfast served in the club lounge, which had been updated and looked sensational was a welcome start to the day. Cant fault it on location right next to time square!!
