The Blakely New York Hotel - New York City, USA 4 star hotel

Address: 136 W 55th St, New York City, 10019
The Blakely New York Hotel details:  Reintroducing traditional style and opulent comfort, The Blakely New York offers a preferred mid Manhattan address for corporate and leisure travelers. Ideally located at 136 West 55th Street, Occupying the address of the former Gorham Hotel, the Blakely opened in late spring of 2004, after a complete renovation and reconfiguration of the facility. In contrast to recent trends of modern boutique hotels, where comfort takes a back seat to style, The Blakely New York has been created in a traditional design with the emphasis on service and comfort.
The Blakely's prime location is ideal for both business and leisure travelers, with proximity to Broadway theaters, Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park, and Fifth Avenue shopping. City Center is just across the street, and a diversity of fine dining venues is right on the doorstep. Among the complimentary guest services at The Blakely are: high speed wireless Internet access; incoming faxes; access to a fitness facility and discounted passport to NYSC; delivery of The New York Times to guest room; overnight shoeshine; and afternoon tea service. In a departure from the minimalist styling that has dominated Manhattan's hospitality scene in recent years, the d

We resisted advise to stay in the heart of Times Square & really enjoyed the location of the Blakely. It was convenient to the theatre, Central Park, TOTR, & the subway entrance.

We have just returned from a week at the Blakely. The location of the hotel was great. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. We had a king suite and the suite consisted of a king bedroom which was quite large and a sitting room with a twin day bed. We brought along a queen inflatable bed which we put on the floor of the sitting room. It did take up most of the room but it left enough room for one person to walk by. The queen inflatable would have fit in the king room also but the kids wanted to stay together. The room was always spotless. The air conditioner worked great but you had to keep the door connecting the king room with the sitting room open for the air to circulate. We ate at the hotel restaurant for the free continental breakfast which was good. It was the same everyday (bagels, muffins, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice, and cereal). We ate at the hotel restaurant once for dinner and the food was awful and the service was worse. We had a great visit to the Blakely and we will be back.
