Great Place to Stay!!!

I stayed at the Candy Hostel Sept 2008 and found it very good, the room was clean and the TV worked,the bathroom was cleaned on a regular basis,the staff were very helpful, there was internet in the lobby which was good value,the lockers in the basement for your last day were also great, it was a safe area very close to Riverside Park. I am a single woman in my 50s and would consider staying there again

I am a mother who stayed at the Candy Hostal for 5 days with my 2 kids in July 2008. I had really low expectations of this hostal but to my surprise when I arrived, I found a very clean and most important safe place. They have a security guard every day and night and the location of the hostal is excellent. The washrooms were always clean and available. The beds were always made, clean sheets and clean towels. What else do I want? For the price, I would stay for sure again. Also, it wasn't noise at all.

Candy Hostel's location was good, a nice part of town with easy access to the underground system. Cleanliness was excellent, one of our main concerns. The staff had little or no local knowledge of the area, and in a couple of cases, could not speak English.

Candy Hostel was a great backpackers. Very clean. Modern utilities. Maid service and fabulously located. That they didn't have a kitchen though they did advise that there was one that we could use in another hostel locally.

For a hostel, their service was outstanding!!!! very curteous staff, especiall a girl by the name of Nafisa(she works the evening shift i belive). she was extremely proffessional, and attended to our concerns in a timely fashion. their entrtainment and games room is like no other; extremely well kept. very welcoming environment. They certainly overexceeded my expectection. we have experienced the best hotels, and was not under any illusion that we were going to a hostel. IT IS A HOSTEL !not a 5star hotel. for what they are, the price, and unbelievable location, our experience was excellent!!!!!!!! period. Ask for Nafisa, or Andy when you arrive.
