4Service 5/5
The staff was friendly and very helpful. I booked though a online travel website and had no problems with check-in.
Cleanliness 5/5
I've stayed at some dank hotels in the past (thanks for nothing AAA!). Bienville House was clean, and not just in the lobby. Rooms were well kept and clean, including the bathroom.
Location 5/5
Wow, could not have a better location! Right on Decatur Street, you are mere blocks away from St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, the French Market, The Aquarium, etc, etc...
Dining 4/5
A complimentary continental-style breakfast is offered. As far as free hotel breakfasts go, I've had better and worse. Basic pastries, cereals, and bagels.
Value 4/5
The price for the room was very reasonable. We got a balcony room overlooking Decatur Street for only a little extra cost. The only negative here is the parking, which costs you $20/day for a car and $25/day for SUV or truck. This adds up to a lot! Unfortunately, it's easier to find the Holy Grail than it is to find parking otherwise, so you're stuck with it.
Ambiance 5/5
This is an extra category that I like to add. Places like Holiday Inn and the Hampton Inn (while often a good value) simply do not have that local feel. The Bienville House Hotel was built back in the 1800's and still has that "New Orleans Feel."
Overall 5/5
Stay here!
