We had some problems with our reservation, which the manager politely rectified. Unfortunately, the next day was a weekend, and he wasn't there when the front desk person. We ended up getting our room, but only after we proved in multiple ways that we had paid (print outs of thereservation, the credit card receipt, etc). After all that, we were rented a room without an alarm clock, shampoo or a toilet that was actually attached to the floor. There are plenty of hotels in Slidell in this price range.

Unfortunately, the next day was a weekend, and he wasn't there when the front desk person. the incredibly rude decided to refuse us a room due to the same problems (this was after we paid). In the course of the conversation, she lied blatently, yelled at us, and was incredibly rude. Carpets, bedspread and sofa were very dirty. Non smoking room stunk of cigaretes with burns on everything except the ceiling. There was no bath mat, clock but there was alot of noise from other rooms and the parking lot till early morning! I did not dare to turn on the lights at night for fear of seeing cockroaches!
We were going to stay through the labor day weekend (@$* per night) and left after the first night and was charged a fee for early checkout. I got a hand written paid in full reciept for 3 nights after they asked for cash $* and was issued a check for $* (photo copied at the bank) when we decided to leave early... $* for 1 night in this crackhouse? never again!
Slidell's economy will have to wait a long time before I spend another $ there. Happy 2nd anniversary (hurricane Katrina)!
