Avalon Hotel address: 700 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, 33139

Avalon Hotel details: Experience all that South Beach has to offer, from the outdoor cafés and restaurants, to the bars, clubs, world-class shopping, and recreation during your Florida vacation.

With traditional South Beach flair, the Avalon Hotel offers the best among South Beach Miami lodging accommodations. Situated in the heart of the boutique hotels in the South Beach Miami district, each of our lodging accommodations offers modern amenities in an Art Deco setting.

With 2 low rise Deco towers (one of which, the Majestic, is completely non-smoking) and 107 newly appointed accommodations, the Avalon is the comfortable, casual place to stay on Miami Beach.

The boardwalk, beach and ocean are directly in front of the Avalon on the other side of Ocean Drive. The boardwalk is great for rollerblades, biking and local strolls. On the beach, you can relax on a chaise lounge and ease into the perfect tan. When it's time to cool off, let the waters of the Atlantic Ocean wrap you in its' refreshing embrace. Want a pool? Take a short walk north on the beach to the sister property, the South Seas Hotel. There, the pool is yours. While you're there, enjoy the casual poolside dining and full service bar at the café, Pilikia.

Valet parking is available at the hotel, however, because due to traffic on Ocean Drive, you may wait to receive your car. Within one block you will have access to a 24 hour parking garage (additional cost), which may be a more flexible and economical option than valet.

This was my third visit to South Beach and finally a hotel that I would recommend. My first two visits as far as hotels are concerned were not pleasant. But The Avalon was satisfying. What I liked about it was the location, excellent!!! and the rooms were clean. That's all I need, cleanliness and not being too far from all the action...... So I would recommend this hotel to someone that not necessarily is looking for Luxury, but decent, well priced and in a good location. I will also add the restaurant in the lobby has good food. A bit pricey, but delish none the less. I also appreciated the continental breakfast. Helpful on the wallet being that you can pay a lot for food while vacationing there. I would give a tip to the hotel and that is to have a microwave available to guests. That would be the icing on the cake because there are refrigerators in the room, but if you have brought back from dinner or lunch your left overs, there is no way to heat it up. So having an accessible microwave would have been perfect.

This hotel is at a great location. It's right across from the beach, surrounded by lots of places to eat and shop, and close to some fun bars. The staff was accommodating and helpful. BUT... I would never stay there again. Ever. The rooms are old and outdated. And very, very small. It smelled bad. Honestly, it reminded me of a dirty motel. Had I been staying there for more than one night I would have left and found a different hotel. I visited South Beach last year and the hotel I stayed at then was 1,000 times newer and cleaner. The Avalon was extremely disappointing!
