Great Location Needs Work

Upon entrance to the hotel had a peculiar moldy/incese odor that greeted you which was a turn off. Had to wait until other customers checked out before I could check in. The room I stayed in was gothic looking but clean. Other than that the hotel is acutally located in a great area a block away from the main entrance to the beach and near all the main streets. Customer service wasn't bad. If your looking for somewhere to get away for the weekend and enjoy the surf and nitelife its a great spot. If your looking for luxurios accomadations try somewhere else.

Front desk staff, helpful and courteous. However, people in charge of continental breakfast, were disorganized. Early morning breakfast items were not ready or not available and staff in attendance were snapish and rude. There were daily charges which were added and had to be paid upon living which I was unaware of. The rooms were clean, plenty of towels but TV didnt work too well...

Went for a weekend with a friend and don't recommend this old smelling moldy hotel. The water in the shower constantly changed from hot to cold. No pool and no action at the Catina. Just boring!

This hotel was perfect for our needs, it was clean, comfortable and located 3 blocks from our daughters' apartment. The beach is only a block away, there are several local markets nearby for anything you might need and all the activity on South Beach is either right in front of you or within a short walk. It is not a quiet area, there are few on South Beach, so there was traffic noise, people noise and just general noise of the Beach, but when you go to South Beach you soon find out that it is a place that never closes! So you are going to have noise. Also, Collins Avenue is also Highway A1A that runs all along the coast, so there will always be traffic. We had everything we needed, once the light was fixed in our bathroom, and would definitely stay again. There are lots of interesting people who travel to South Beach and we met many, and most all were friendly. The hotel continental breakfast was adequate, but only from 8AM to 9:30AM, it would have been nice if it lasted at least until 10AM. Coffee available all day would also have been a plus, but there are places around to buy it, we just thought it would have been a good way to have guests feel at home, since there are no coffee pots in rooms.

The hotel has very strong moldy smell in the lobby, The room carpet was dirty with a couple of burned iron marks in the carpet. The bathroom & Bed Linens were clean. The comfort of the beds were average. The staff was courteous & friendly & quick to respond to service. The hotel is very close to the beach, one block away. Overal, I was very disappointed. The pictures of the hotel rooms looked so nice. I wouldn't not stay again.
