we stayed at the singel on the 14 april 07, the hotel is lovely and clean, with very helpful and friendly staff , comfy beds with clean sheets and pillows and a clean bathroom with clean towels and shower gel and shampoo provided, breakfast was lovely boiled eggs rolls toast coffee and tea with cream cereal juices fruitbread cheeses hams etc on a buffett so u can get as much as you want , were able to leave our luggage untill we had to leave for the train station which saved us carrying it around all morning, the hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the station, the only negative is that we paid ?320 for a 3 night stay and we had to order coffee and tea as there were none in the rooms when the tea and coffee came the cups were very very very small and they were ?1.75 per cup i think the tea and coffee should be included in ther room price but apart from that the hotel is perfect i would stay here again

The Delano was a very beautifull hotel, the majorty of the staff were nice, very helpfull. The conscierge and the front desk were really accomodating. The rooms are small and nothing to write home about. Our room had mold in the shower, and we spoke with the front desk and they upgraded us immediately and had someone come up and take our bags right away. So they fixed it right away and were pleasant about it. The pool staff is another story. They are arrogant and condescending. You have to tip tip tip and even then, they act like they are doing you a favor. What's more, my wife, who was 5 months pregnant had to argue with them to get a poolside chair, and people are constantly approaching you to see your card and making you feel like your are tresspassing. So we basically just went to the beach to avoid the hassle. If you go to the hotel, here's the main thing to do. Give the main valet guy a tip of 20$ when you get there and he'll take good care of you. He can make things happen!!

I frequently visit South Beach in the Winter/Spring, and have had the opportunity to stay at a few different hotels. I recently revisited the Delano, where I had stayed a few years back, and was pleasantly reminded how fabulous this hotel really is! I checked into my room and was disappointed that I had a very loud couple staying next to me. When I called down to complain, the front desk was happy to accomodate me, and upgraded me to an ocean front room! I loved the ambiance and the crowd of people there too. The pool bartenders are very friendly (and cute), and the two people who work the door at the front were amazingly friendly and full of suggestions for nightlife. Funny thing is, as soon as I left the place I was having drinks at and headed back to the hotel, I found that there was no need to leave the hotel at all! (which is what I was told)... better crowd at the Delano! I will definitely be staying at the Delano the next time I travel back to South Beach... it's and Oldey (for Sobe), but Goodey!!!

We stayed at the Delano for four nights. It was immediately apparent to us that unless you were spending shedloads of cash on over priced expensive bottles of champagne whilst sunbathing around the pool then you weren't getting and sort of service from the staff. We were thoroughly dissapointed with the hotel and even more dissapointed with the "Miami attitude" of the staff in general. On one of the nights that the downstairs lobby turns into a bar, you have to fight your way through all the Armani, Gucci, Chanel handbags accompained by the fake boobs and over pumped lips to then be greeted by two doormen with attitude asking if they can help you........."err yes - by moving out of the way so we as hotel guests can access the pool bar" - serious mistake if you ask me. I can certainly say that I would not like to stay in the hotel again. The rooms are done to a standard so that on first impression you think they are amazing and then when you look around in your own time you realise that there are stains on the bed valance, stains on the ceiling. The hallway carpet on our floor (11) was disgusting and rather then clean it the maintenance people used overpowered dryers which added to the awful musty smell along the corridor. Sorry Delano but you charge a small fortune to allow people to stay there on the back of your name but in reality on the face of it I would put you on a par with the Days Inn group.
