Mimosa Hotel & Spa - Miami Beach, USA 

Dreadful experience, would not recommend to anyone

Thought it would be fun to book a hotel in Miami Beach for a couple of days during a 4 week tour around America. It cost a fortune but decided to treat ourself as the idea of a beach hotel and a luxury suite sounded good. The car park is to the right of the hotel (which is on a one way street so you have gone past it before getting to the hotel) so difficult to use/unload the car. You have to park on the pavement while you unpack. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful. The room was tiny, had the bath in the bedroom and the whole place felt damp. There was a small toilet adjoining the bedroom. Coffee maker and fridge also in bedroom, When we complained and said we had been promised a suite we were told that was what they called a suite. They insisted they had no other rooms so we were stuck. The next day we tried complaining to the guy on duty but got nowhere again. They couldn't have cared less. On top of all that the room was very poorly soundproofed so we had to endure the scraping of furniture and loud noises from next door which obviously had a family in with a couple of kids. Awful, awful, awful. Would never stay there again and could not recommend to anyone. The best thing about our time in Miami was leaving. The rest of our holiday was fantastic and we stayed in hotels from cheap and cheerful to luxury and had no problems at any others.

It was a nice hotel, the people was also nice and it was just two steps from the beach. Let?s go to the problems: the acoustic was not good so the noise in the other room really bothered us. And there was no way to adjust the air conditioning, so we felt cold, even with the 84 degrees outside. But the worse of all things was the so called breakfest... 2 toast, a cup of whatever you choose (coffe, milk, tea), and something to put in the toasts, and that?s it!!!
