Essex House Hotel - Miami Beach, USA 

Wonderful, Affordable Hotel with a GREAT Staff!

I really enjoyed my time at the Essex House Hotel and Suites. My room was nice and clean and offered all of the basic necessities. My only complaint about the room was that the tv's color was off, but I didn't spend that much time in my room, so I wasn't worried. The hotel consists of three floors of rooms and suites. The elevator is kind of small, it can only hold three people at a time, but you can just as easily take the stairs if necessary. The hotel itself is in an incredible location - one block away from the beach and Ocean Drive. There are numerous restaurants and stores you can choose from on Ocean Drive, but be warned that they can be kind of expensive if you're not careful. If you're interested in more inexpensive dining, just go one block in the opposite direction to Washington Avenue. There you will find plenty of restaurants, shops, drug stores, and pretty much anything else you need. I would highly recommend staying at the Essex House if you are on a budget, but still want to enjoy the ambiance of South Beach. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. By the time I left, I felt like I was leaving friends behind. Directly outside of the hotel there is a small, 4-foot pool. It's not really large enough to do laps, but if you just want to lounge, it's great. Each night, the Essex House hosts a happy hour where you can order drinks and food items. Throughout the lobby and the covered deck area, there are flat screen tvs so you can watch the game or other shows. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Miami!

we love the essex house hotel and stay there everytime we go to s. beach. the staff is top shelf and the rooms are comfortable and clean. the location can not be beat. the essex house hotel is undoubtebly the best value for your dollar.

have stayed 6 times in the past and it continues to impress with service, comfort, affordability and friendliness. location is perfect. if you are going to s. beach and you DO NOT stay at the essex house, you will have made a poor choice. i'll see you all in a few weeks.....

The Art-Deco look of this hotel is gorgeous, the staff are so pleasant, the rooms very comfortable...what more could we ask for? We had a large, lovely porch to sit out on all day into the evening if we liked, we could bring our drinks out there or have them delivered to us. The breeze was so nice...a truly enjoyable stay w/an truly enjoyable & competant group of people. We'll probably do it again. We felt so comfortable, & boy was that complimentary lemonade in the afternoons a pleasant surprise after walking around for hours!
