4The hotel is located very close to the beach in an interesting part of Miami Beach. The location is the best thing about the hotel. The rooms are basic with contemporary decorations. Beds are comfortable and the TV picture is pretty good. There is a patio where you can hang out with people and overlook Collins Ave. Shopping is very accessible on Washington Ave. and Oceans Drive. There is no pool, but it has a decent sized hot tub surrounded by palm trees that people hang out in at night.
Overall, the hotel was pretty good. It's a little run down in certain areas, but such is expected in a place with high humidity, salt water and sand. They serve breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00. I loved the extended hours (for the late risers). Don't expect to smuggle any of it to your room though. You are given glass dishes and cups. No bacon or eggs, mainly pastries, cereals, apples, juice, etc.
The only things I didn't like were the smugness of the staff and the strange smell of the lobby. For being an affordable hotel, the staff are a little too proud and standoffish. But, if you look past these two things, you can have a really good time here. I would recommend it for a younger crowd. It has a very chill atmosphere.
