2Pulling into the driveway of the hotel, I was greeted by a valet. I noticed there was no option for self parking. Valet was $20 per day. Given that I was traveling for business and had equipment with me, I didn't want to valet my car and haul everything up with me upon checking in. The valet did not offer to help me with my bag and there was no concierge or baggage service. I had to carry 5 HEAVY bags with me with no offers of help from the hotel staff. Check in was standard, I was asked if I was parking a car, which I was, and was then told they needed my credit card to hold a $40.00 deposit for parking.
The room was clean, needed to ask for more towels. Air conditioning worked ok. Ice machine was out on my floor and the vending machine was glitchy - had to travel to a floor above for ice and a floor below for sodas. The free wireless internet was poor.
Upon checking out I noticed that there was a $40 charge on my room bill. When inquiring at the front desk, they advised me that it was for parking. When I mentioned that I was told it was a deposit and hold by the clerk on check-in, they said that he was mistaken with no further explanation and abruptly hung up the call. While the $100 each night for a 4 star hotel seemed like a deal at the time, I found out that you get what you pay for.
