We stayed in the Radisson for 5 nights with two small children and we liked it very much. Good, clean room with a wonderful view over the city and the mountains of Hollywood. The cildren could swimm in the pool, but the water was a little bit too cold for them. We loved the Japanese restaurant. Very friendly staff and a very good service.

I will never stay here again! The room was dirty, the bedding old, worn and stained, the staff was rude, and the place was completely out of ice. There were also a couple of rooms that had marajuana smoke coming from them. NOT for families. I'm glad we didn't have my daughter with us. Location is very far from any type of convenience store (we needed cold drinks) and the neighborhood is dangerous. I am from the L.A.area, and had no idea it would be so horrible. Valet took 1/2 hour to return our car so we could drive to a store, then we had to drive a long way to get out of the shady neighborhood. Very horrible stay!! Very old and uncomfortable bed.

The lobby area was very nice but the room was not. It was very dated with water stains on the ceiling. Bathroom was very small and the shower didn't have hot water. The tulip resturant closed at 2pm and there are very few resturants to choose from in walking distance. We were in LA for a concert at the staples center and it's only about 2 miles away from the hotel so that was nice. After the concert we were hungry so we asked front desk if there was anything close by and open at 1am. The staff was very helpful and gave us a variety of menus from places that were opened late and who deliever to their hotel. Overall it was a nice place to sleep. No stores, shops or boutiques in walking distance but it was nice.

Pulling into the driveway of the hotel, I was greeted by a valet. I noticed there was no option for self parking. Valet was $20 per day. Given that I was traveling for business and had equipment with me, I didn't want to valet my car and haul everything up with me upon checking in. The valet did not offer to help me with my bag and there was no concierge or baggage service. I had to carry 5 HEAVY bags with me with no offers of help from the hotel staff. Check in was standard, I was asked if I was parking a car, which I was, and was then told they needed my credit card to hold a $40.00 deposit for parking. The room was clean, needed to ask for more towels. Air conditioning worked ok. Ice machine was out on my floor and the vending machine was glitchy - had to travel to a floor above for ice and a floor below for sodas. The free wireless internet was poor. Upon checking out I noticed that there was a $40 charge on my room bill. When inquiring at the front desk, they advised me that it was for parking. When I mentioned that I was told it was a deposit and hold by the clerk on check-in, they said that he was mistaken with no further explanation and abruptly hung up the call. While the $100 each night for a 4 star hotel seemed like a deal at the time, I found out that you get what you pay for.
