What Travellers Like

We were welcomed upon check-in, and at the request of our 5 year old son, our room was changed to the other side of the building to include a view of the "Hollywood" sign - its amazing what a child with impeccable manners will do for you in the USA! A very accomodating receptionist then had a fold out bed delivered for my son as the rooms on this side are not twins. Even with the fold out, and the king size bed we had plenty of room to move with 3 in the room. We have stayed in many hotels worldwide and The Sofitel has THE most comfortable beds and pillows we have ever encountered. Hotel facilities are very good, with a well equipped gym, a small but adequate pool, a nice bar and a good restaurant as well as very good toiletries in the bathroom which were replenished daily. Room service was prompt, efficient and friendly and tailored meals to our 5 year olds needs. The hotel is right opposite the Beverley Centre, which has excellent shopping, a block from the Hard Rock Cafe and Starbucks and a 15-20min walk or short taxi or bus ride from The Grove and Farmers Market for more excellent shopping - a great location considering not much in L. The concierge was very good in recommending places to go/see and organised transport and tours quickly and efficiently. The Sofitel is really very good value, well positioned and by no means the most expensive hotel around the Beverley Hills/West Hollywood areas.. Read review

The hotel was good, the rooftop pool was small but ample, about 4 ft deep and not very big, when you swim like a brick as I do, its fine! The beverly Centre with about 140 shops, which include Bloomingdales, Macys, and lots of other good names, is literally across the road, all the roads are VERY wide, not like what we're used to in England. The staff were wonderful, loved the turn down service and the free water! 6 cups full, then again we did ask for two jugs, in fairness to room service they did warn us they were big jugs, I know now they meant it! The room was excellent my husband thought he was Lord Muck!. Read review
