Location

Situated 300 metres from the fine sandy tourist beaches of Playa del Duque beach and Playa Fañabe, this quiet, residential area is where most of the 5-star hotels of the South of the Island are found. We have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Costa Adeje Gran. This hotel is excellent value for money. The hotel has a very grand receiption area with a lovely bar area. The prices here are reasonable too, which is a bonus! There is a large main pool, which does get a bit crowded so we opted to stay by the roof top pool which is very quiet and relaxing and every bit 5 star. You are not allowed to reserve sunbeds in the morning, which we thought was ideal as it meant no early mornings sneaking out to put your towel out. The hotel also provides fresh towels by the pool each day. We were B and B, but found the breakfasts to be excellent, with a huge choice. The rooms are large and well kept and the beds are huge. There is maid service every day. Every room has a fab view of either the pool and the sea or the mountains to the rear of the hotel. There is a pool snack bar but for lunches there are some lovely restaurants along the beach. To the right of the Plaza del Duque (very grand shopping centre) there is a partciularly nice pizzaria, Portofino. We did not try the restaurants immediately to the left of the hotel but they did look good. However there are some great restaurants along the sea front both to the left and right of the hotel with great views. Some of which include, Great Little Italy, Torres Del Mirador, Brasserie, Gran Reservera and La Fortaleza Del Mar, a little further along. There are some lovely cocktail bars too, the one by Torres Del Mirador is good as is the one in the shopping centre by the moonlight bar, which does great Karaoke! All in all a great hotel in a great location, with something for everyone!
