Staff was exceptionally friendly, especially to our two children. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet included with the room ( $10 more for everyone) was well worth it...waffles, meats, omelots, fruit, breads, cereals, etc. Hotel grounds were beautiful. The hotel pools were perfect for our kids...only 4 feet deep max. The only downside was that this hotel backs up to the airport. The planes are loud when you're outside. Our room was on the side facing the runway and we could definitely hear the planes taking off, but they started at 7am and we were up anyway. So if you're a light sleeper or want to sleep in, this is not the hotel for you.

The Marriott in Long Beach is undergoing renovations, and not a moment too soon. I was in a corner room on the top floor for my two night stay ($199 per night AAA rate). The hotel is convenient to the airport, and a reasonable distance from downtown Long Beach. The food and beverage services are over priced. The housekeeping in the room was poor, and not of a typical Marriott standard. The bed was mushy and too soft. The front desk staff was friendly at check in. All in all, a good, safe location for a hotel but the overall experience was just okay...it could have been much better.
