We had a great experience at Planet Hollywood! Our flight got in early, so we tried to check in at 9:30 a.m. but were told we could leave our luggage and try again at noon. We wandered out into the casino and got to see Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher shooting a movie. We saw a sign for free blackjack lessons and decided to take advantage while we waited for check-in. I would totally recommend those lessons (they also offer craps and poker), all taught by a really friendly guy named Steve. We got to our newly renovated room by 12:30 p.m., and it was HUGE. We booked a mountain view room because it guarantees two queen beds. The bathroom was giant with two vanities with sinks, a large shower, and a deep soaking tub. We also had a flat-screen t.v., and the beds were very comfortable. Every PH worker we encountered was extremely friendly and so helpful, from our waitress at P.F. Chang's to the luggage people to the front desk to the person who brought up our room service to the servers at the Spice Buffet. Planet Hollywood should give all their workers a raise. The one spot where PH could make improvements is their pool area. It's on the sixth floor, and it's just an awkward set-up as it is. Anyway, what a fun weekend, and PH definitely contributed to the great time we had in Vegas.

I was a little disappointed when this was our 4-star hotel on Priceline. We stayed here last year while it was still the Aladdin, and we liked it OK. The decor has really improved although it's funny to see little things left behind. I lucked out with check-in. I arrived a couple hours early and got right into a newly renovated room facing the mountains. I was hoping for a fountain view like last time, but I'm glad I didn't have to look at TONS of construction across the Strip. The Karate Kid theme was a little strange but also whimsical. Overall, the room is large, attractive, comfortable, and it has an awesome TV. The mall is OK, but it is still completely in the Aladdin style. I love that there is an Earl of Sandwhich inside the casino. I was pleasantly surprised that the prices were identical to the one in Orlando. The Planet Dailies coffeeshop was a giant let down. The prices were ridiculous, and we had awful service. I ate at the buffett last year, and it didn't live up to the hype. I'll take the Rio instead. I loved the front desk staff at this hotel, but the concierge staff was clueless. Maybe I've been to Vegas too much, but I think I could do a better job.
