We got a room here on New Year's Eve for $80. An excellent value considering hotels on Fremont Street were charging $200-nite and hotels on the Strip $300-nite. The room offered the basics, no more, but was clean. Their buffet was cheap but good. We liked the casino; it was small and offered low-budget gambling. Overall a positive experience.

Wow. This place was sweet. Our race team stayed there for an event we had back in 2004. Let's go into some detail about how bad this place was: 1. BEDS - Hello, I think that's the box spring I can feel in my back. These beds were garbage. I've slept on cots that were more comfy than this. 2. BATHROOM - Bring your bath shoes. That is unless you like standing in mold, and other forms of nastyness in the shower and general bath area. 3. AREA - Well you can't blame the Nevada Palace too much for this, the Boulder HWY isn't exactly the best strip of land in the Vegas Desert. Crime appears to be higher than average, but we didn't have any problems. 4. CASINO - If your looking for a place to light your next Cigarette with the one you are about to extinguish, this is your kind of place. Thick smoke filled the casino floor, and the general feeling was gloomy and depressing. This due to the low ceiling and extremely dated decor. As for the other patrons, if you want to see some hardcore gambling addicts at their best (or worst depending on how you are looking at it) come to the Nevada Palace. We saw the same dude sitting in the same chair at the same $1.00 blackjack table every night and every morning as we passed through the lobby go to/from the race track. Amazing! 5. OTHER - One other "sweet" thing of mention was the TV. In one of our rooms, the TV had a steady stream of adult video that wouldn't stop. We are a bunch of racing guys on these trips, so it was amuzing at first, but rather unnecessary after a couple minutes. We informed the staff because we didn't want to get charged for something we didn't sign up for, but they really didn't care. It wasn't on our bill when we checked out, so niether did we. WELL, all in all, if this is what you can afford, go for it. If you can afford something $20 more a night, it will be well worth it. I'll never let our secretary book the rooms for our team again without our approval!
