Comfort Suites Airport & Cruise Port - Fort Lauderdale, USA 

I booked this hotel on Travelocity because the price was cheaper than on the Comfort Suites website. However, they state that if you can find a cheaper price online they will match that price PLUS take another 10% off. I contacted them when I found the cheaper price on Travelocity and they made good on their promise. I got a King non-smoking room (well, they call it a "suite" I guess because it has a couch in it!) for $194 plus tax. We stayed at the hotel for one night prior to a cruise. Our flight got in very early (9:30 AM). We called for the shuttle and although we had to wait 20-30 minutes, a friendly professional driver did pick us up along with 10 other people. They had a trailer on the van to accommodate everyone's luggage. At the hotel, we were not yet able to check in but the staff at the front desk was very nice and told me just to keep asking as often as I wanted to. They did not make me feel like a pest for asking! Around 2 PM, we were able to get our room. They did hold our luggage for us so we were able to go out for lunch during the waiting time. There is one computer in the main lobby with free internet and it has a printer attached. There was no sign indicating a time limit or anything and it was often in use. Most people were good about not hogging it if someone was obviously waiting. Connection was fine although you have to wait 20 seconds or so for the first page you request to come up and it seems like nothing is happening. Our room was fine. Standard issue hotel room and it was clean and had no bad smells or stains. There is nothing special about the rooms. You are paying for the convenience of being close to the cruise port. If you are getting on a cruise the next morning and want to take the hotel's shuttle, they put the sign up sheet out at 3 PM the day before. It is important to get on the list early! The next morning, the free breakfast did the job but was just OK. If you like carbs and grease, you'll be happy. Waffle-makers, cereal, toast, donuts/buns, eggs and greasy sausage. If you like fruit and lowfat yogurt, you'll be out of luck. Also be careful with the wafflemakers as they don't provide spray and the batter can really stick in there. Checkout was easy and professional. No problems and again the staff was friendly and great. The shuttle service worked well too. We were on a shuttle to the cruise port at the time we signed up for and everything went smoothly! Overall, we would recommend this hotel. It still seems quite pricey for what you get, but again it is the location close to the port that you are paying for. There would be no reason NOT to stay here again, but also nothing that made us say we definitely would stay here again (i.e. if I found a better deal at a similar type place, I'd take it just to save the $)

For the price I paid, this was a very good deal. I choose this hotel because it was close to the airport and cruise port. Also, they provided free transportation to/from airport and cruise port. The only 2 drawbacks were we couldn't check-in early as they were full (they did hold our bags though). We stayed the day after Thanksgiving. Also, the first bus to the pier at 11am was full, so we signed up for the noon bus. There were many people waiting so we ended up paying the $15 and took a taxi instead of waiting. The room and bathroom was a decent size and and pretty well kept. The morning breakfast was very good, better than a continental. It even had belgian waffles and other hot foods. I will stress to search out a good price. I paid only $87 including tax when other sites had the same hotel room at upwards of $171. Also, you can take the local bus right across the street to the beach for $1.50 instead of about $20 for a taxi.
