I've stayed at the Days Inn Lincoln Park North for years, but returned this month after a two-year absence. The property's actually better-looking, better-run, and better appointed than my last visit. The staff -- who field guest requests literally 24 hours a day -- was unfailingly courteous, the valets and bellboys helpful, and the housekeeping staff thorough and polite. The manager couldn't have been more solicitous when he happened to overhear a question I had about directions. I've spent much more at hotels that delivered a lot less; this perfectly located hotel is an exceptional value.

We were in Chicago last week to catch a Cubs night game, and picked the Days Inn Lincoln Park mostly for its price (about $140 including taxes for a double-bed room) and proximity to Wrigley Field. Although I expected only the most basic lodging for that price in this area, we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, comfort, and hospitality this hotel provided. The bed was very comfortable, A/C fully functional, floors and carpets were clean and free of stains/wear, service personnel friendly and attentive. The area itself is full of shops, convenience stores, and restaurants all in close proximity. Parking is a nightmare, however - we resorted to the hotel valet which was a reasonable $22 per day. The valets also provided outstanding service. The only negative was the bathroom. Although it was very clean and the water pressure adequate in the shower, the bathroom itself was extremely miniscule, making getting ready for the day a little tight for the two of us. A minor drawback for such an outstanding value. We walked to and from the game, which took us a little over a half-hour. The area felt reasonably safe, even when hoofing it back from the game at the end of the night. We will definitely be staying here again.
