Location

Tours and excursions offered by the hotel include;

A day-trip along the Western coast of Sicily on the Penelope motor-boat:
The tour leaves from Castellammare del Golfo, passing thorough Gabbie dei tonni (the Tunas’ Cages), Grotta delle Colombe (the Dove’s Cove) and Cala Leone (Lion Cove), before heading to San Vito Lo Capo and finally to faraglioni di Scopello.

Visits to the famous thermal baths in Segesta:
The baths are equipped with three sulphurous water sources that naturally gush out at 46 and 47°C. The fully-equipped spa centre offers high therapeutic power mud, natural sauna stoves, nasal inhalations, aerosols and irrigations, water massage facilities and thermal, external swimming pools.

Scuba-diving trips to the sea beds and the submarine coves of the coast of Castellammare del Golfo:
Expert skin-divers will accompany you on your visit to the unforgettable marine landscapes of the Riserva dello Zingaro and San Vito lo Capo. On the cliff fringe that encircles the rocks, the plant and animal life is very rich and you will observe many varieties of Mediterranean flora and fauna.

Guided excursions to the mountains of the Riserva dello Zingaro:
Amongst dwarf palms and colourful flowers, you will gain access to the numerous animal species peculiar to the area: the Peregrin falcon, buzzards, foxes, porcupine and many others. You will also visit the Grotto dell'Uzzo; a magnificent, immense cave in which, thanks to a series of excavations, numerous burial sites have been brought to light. Other marvelous places are the Tonnara dell'Uzzo in the northern part of the Reserve, and the Baglio Cusenza; a magnificent rural mass made up of about twenty dwellings at the foot of the mountain Passo del Lupo.

This hotel was perfect. The staff was patient with my poor Italian and was very accomidating. Out of 5 hotels in Sicily my family of 14 enjoyed this one the best. The breakfast is perfect and the hotel is close to 5 very good resturants the views are unbelievable and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Having read some very positive reviews of this hotel, we were deeply disappointed with the room we were offered. On arrival, we were shown into a small dark room, with a small window facing onto a side alley. Reviews we had read all spoke about the “wonderful” views from the rooms. Complaints to the desk clerk met with no result. “Sir, this is the room which you have reserved”, he insisted. Checking my booking, it said “Standard Room” - but didn’t say “Dark Room at back facing onto alleyway”. Turns out there are three rooms at the front with a sea view, and these are at a premium price. We couldn’t upgrade, since they were fully booked. Outside, the guide book had mentioned the hotel faced onto a “small sandy beach”. A more apt description would be “dirty, litter-strewn strip of sand close to equally dirty water”. Parking outside was also a problem, since the hotel is close to a marina which generates significant local traffic. To be fair, the room itself was clean, had good air-conditioning, satellite tv and a minibar. Bathroom was small, but adequate (though the shampoo dispenser was empty). At 86 euros a night, it probably wasn’t the worst value I’ve ever had – assuming you want to visit Castellammare Del Golfo. After a day and a half there, I can’t remember why we decided to go there in the first place. Won’t be back
