We booked our room from the website. Sight unseen. It was close to the Great Lakes Naval Training Facility and we wanted to be close, but not too close to the traffic and noise on that side of town. We booked for 3 days to spend time with our son who was graduating. <br>If we had known there was a new HiEx nearby, we would have stayed there instead. When we arrived, the clerk was personable and we went straight to our room. It looked clean. Our room was ok. No visible odors or anything out of the ordinary. Towels were really scratchy. The second night some drunk people tried shoving their keycard into our door and woke us up at 3am. They had the wrong room. It scared me! The next night, a couple were up all night partying and making &quot;noise&quot; . It seemed to be a safe and quiet place from the outside. Some people just have no respect for others. Libertyville was a great area. Everything you need is close by. Great donut shop called Lees, had fresh doughnuts, but the coffee was just so so. Jimmy&#39;s Charhouse was awesome! Great for a graduation celebratory dinner, very reasonably priced for a fancy celebration. This hotel is close to everything you would need for a visit with your graduate. But if you can afford a better hotel, you might want to get an upgrade.

We stayed there Sat Oct 11-13th. Room was clean and comfortable. For the price I think it was worth it. Nothing special, but I don't travel to hang out in the hotels. We went to Chicago Marathon and rode the Metra to Chicago. Metra station was close to hotel. Wildberry acrossed the street was an good place to eat in the morning. Again I will stay there again if in area, was nice for the price.

When I first arrived housekeeping was still cleaning my room, so I dropped off my luggage and left to keep out of the way. When I returned, the room window was open and I was on the bottom floor. Rule number, do not leave windows open, especially on ground floor. So, I unpacked and got ready for bed, went to close the window and lock it and my window did not lock properly. I tried several times to get it to work, and finally went to the receptionist to ask for a different room. The window would open about 2 - 3 inches, enough for someone to easily grab ahold of and break in, he ended up putting a metal rod in it to jam it shut, still only arguing with me about it more in my room, and reassuring me that I was in a safe neighborhood. And, also, just a side note, the two pictures in my room were exactly alike.

Do NOT stay in this hotel.

My stay at this hotel consisted of two nights and it was horrible. They have no respect for their clients. I am a small, petite woman, and I was staying by myself both nights. The bottom locked, but the top did not. I tried several times to get it to work, and finally went to the receptionist to ask for a different room. He argued with me about it, and told me it shouldn&#039;t be a problem, because we were in a good, safe neighborhood. I complained some more, and he finally agreed to look at it. The window would open about 2 - 3 inches, enough for someone to easily grab ahold of and break in, he ended up putting a metal rod in it to jam it shut, still only arguing with me about it more in my room, and reassuring me that I was in a safe neighborhood. I don&#039;t care where I am, I want to feel safe, even more so when I am visiting by myself. And, also, just a side note, the two pictures in my room were exactly alike. Found that a little funny. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, in fact I would tell everyone to avoid to the best of their abilities.
