Every time I stayed, the desk staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are somewhat plain but clean- and having a kitchenette is a big bonus for me. I agree with the reviewer who said there's a smell of smoke near the non-smoking rooms. Fortunately, the smell wasn't IN the non-smoking room, so didn't bother me. This is by no means a five star hotel- but for a clean, comfortable room, I am happy to stay here again.

I've stayed here three times- once on the way to Wisconsin (when it was the only hotel that wasn't booked) and twice for events at the nearby Three Floyds brewery. I did not feel unsafe there- and to my knowledge, no cars have ever been broken into while I was there. (I'm always in a car with Alabama plates, but have always emerged unscathed.) This is by no means a five star hotel- but for a clean, comfortable room, I am happy to stay here again. (And I intend to next year for my return to Three Floyds.)

This is the third hotel I have stayed at in the Chicago area and I have yet to find a hotel that knows about the downtown area of Chicago.

My stay was only one night, however, the bed was very uncomfortable, they should get beds like at the Marriot hotels. There was something in one of the drawers that had been there for a while and was not mine. They had no maps of downtown Chicago and it was difficult to get my questions answered from the front desk personnel.

There is also a charge for internet use while other hotels have free wireless internet. There was no business center with a computer either.

If they are trying to appeal to the business traveler that is definately not the way.

The attendant in the morning was very nice and hospitable.

Horrible
dangerous place

"Our car was broken into twice during our stay. Bands of smash and grab thiefs roam the area. The hotel desk and security doesn't seem to care. The front desk was unmanned most of the time. This place has a positively dangerous feel. We have out of state license plates and were definitely targeted. Besides uncaring staff, cigarette smoke permeates air near non-smoking room. We checked out two day early, despite pre-paying."
