The staff isn't very helpful nor caring to the guests needs. The only other good thing about the hotel was its location. I didn't think air conditioning was "extra" at a hotel!
Our room was extremely warm and stuffy upon arrival. I had a business meeting early the next morning, scheduled a "hotel shuttle". Also after being miserable for 2 days and not sleeping due to not having an air conditioner that worked, I requested another room.

The " Grizzwald's Vacation" had nothing on us!

From the moment we arrived at the hotel...we should have turned and run! Upon arrival, there were two policeman questioning hotel staff members about a theft from a guests' room. The young lady and her business associates were literally in tears. Well, I tried to overlook the incident ..thinking it was just "one in a million"...So we checked in. Our room was extremely warm and stuffy upon arrival. We turned the air conditioner on and left to go out to dinner. When we came back the room was still very warm. I notified the service desk. There comment was, "Sorry, just turn it off then back on..happens all the time." Ok tried that....didn't work. I had a business meeting early the next morning, scheduled a "hotel shuttle". That was the best part of the trip! The drivers were extremely courteous and on time. Upon arriving back from my meeting, I noticed my pass wouldn't open the door. My brother advised me that his door key had to be "reprogrammed" several times as well. Why? We still don't know. Also after being miserable for 2 days and not sleeping due to not having an air conditioner that worked, I requested another room. Once again I was brushed off by staff..saying "sorry, no other rooms, you can have another room in the morning or we'll call the repair man." Day three no repair man. I went to the service desk and the morning attendant knew nothing about the room change or calling a repairman! They never knew there was a complaint about the room! It was never reported! I advsd. we were leaving, the assistant manager came to the room, couldn't fix it and called a repair "again". This time one did show up. But the man advsd. he was never alerted by staff that we had no air conditioning for over 3 days! I confronted the staff about the lie and they just smiled and said, "sorry". My brother and I were miserable for days. We'd get ice from the machine and it took under 5 minutes to melt! Trust me...we timed it! While I was in training my brother had to spend the day in the lobby for air conditioning or go driving around just to stay cool! After driving for 8 hours, a person kind of wants a place to relax upon arrival! Not have to drive some more just to cool off!
The staff isn't very helpful nor caring to the guests needs. It was extremely hard to goto work the next morning and be at my best, when I was unable to sleep at night from the room temp. The only other good thing about the hotel was its location. It was near many restaurants and malls, as well as the interstate. I would never recommend them nor would we stay there again. The staff made you feel like you were a burden when you would request something fixed! I didn't think air conditioning was "extra" at a hotel! It was the worst business trip I've ever experienced. I didn't know if it was warmer outside or in! The windows only opened a few inches! I became so physically ill from the situation that I had to stop on the way home and spend the night at another hotel. This was a cheaper hotel and not as well known...but by far it was cleaner, had more ammenities and such a courteous staff! I was shocked. I will probably have another business trip to Downers Grove in August, this time I will be staying at a hotel down the street!

Everyone has been extremely polite, helpful, friendly with us. It's in a great location, by a BUNCH and great variety of restaurants, fast foods, cafes, stores; its right by I-355 and I-88 expressways. The room including the bathroom is very cozy, comfortable, spacious, clean, and organized. The free wi-fi internet connection has great, fast, constant speeds, very reliable! The only downside was the free breakfast; It only consisted of donuts, muffins, coffe, and juices; not even butter or jelly. They don't have a pool, gym, or anything, but how often do you really use those amenities when you are on vacations/business trip? Exactly, rarely. I would definately stay here again, not doubt about it!
