5Stayed here 9/08 and it is a very well kept secret. Classy, clean, super staff Basic rooms, and larger than average bathrooms. Very close to all of the attractions and the best value I found in Boston. Safe neighborhood, close to 2 train stations. Drawbacks are a lack of hotel restaraunt and a small lobby with no real place to hang out. Also, guests park at parking garage across the street and have to drag luggage down steps and across the street. My 72 & 68 yr old parents handled it well, but just know if you have a car that this may be a problem, though the staff offered to help us with our luggage. If you are a tourist looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is clean and safe and comfortable, without a lot of glitz (though the hotel is really historical and classy), this is your place. We felt very lucky to find it on the internet. I was very relieved when we checked in, because for the price, I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was a real gem. If you need room service or a pool or a gym, pay the big bucks somewhere else. And the staff was delightful and helped us with where we needed to go, even searching the internet for me.
