This hotel was everything we were looking for. It's right in the middle of everything in Boston. Directly across the street from the Boston Commons and close to a subway stop. We booked this hotel at a very good rate through Expedia. We expected to pay over $350 a night since we stayed over the holiday weekend but found prices around $200. We stayed in a deluxe king room and it had more than enough room. Everything was very clean and the staff were very friendly. They gave us great tips and directions on anything we needed. Make sure to put your "do not disturb" sign on the door when you are sleeping because the maids do knock quite early. I would definitley suggest staying at the Boston Park Plaza.

This hotel takes up one square block--it's huge. It is a block away from Boston Common, making it a centralized location to see everything in Boston. The hotel is near the Arlington Avenue T station and is good for getting around. Everyone should check out Gypsy Bar on Boylston, which is only a block away from the hotel. It was hopping on Saturday, though it seemed like more tourists were there than locals. The room was small; the bed took up the entire room. We would go and have breakfast at Au Bon Pain, located in the hotel or Starbucks in the mall across the street. The concierge was pleasant and helpful in making suggestions about what to do during the July 4th weekend.

We booked the Park Plaza for 3 nights over the 4th of July holiday. We chose the hotel because my wife had stayed there for business a year ago and knew it would be convenient for all of the sites we wanted to see in downtown Boston. It is close to Boston Common and has close subway access and is within walking distance (a few miles) of all the major attractions and historic sites. We booked a King Deluxe room which was a very large room - much bigger than the standard room my wife had stayed in previously and a very generous size for a downtown hotel. The room was very comfortable with new pillow top bedding and white linen bed covers, a desk and two armless chairs (I would have preferred a lounge chair as there was room) and a flat screen TV on top of a 6 drawer dresser. I believe this room had once been two smaller rooms as there were 2 bathrooms - one with a tub shower and one with a stall shower. However typical of downtown hotels both bathrooms were quite small with limited shelf space so having two made the small size workable. The shower bathroom lacked a niche for soap/shampoo and the toilets in both bathrooms were packed in pretty tight quarters. The room was very clean and the hotel staff kept it that way throughout our stay with thorough and efficient service. We had a drink in the hotel bar and the prices were reasonable and the cocktails well made. Overall we found the hotel to be very convenient and a good value. We highly recommend it for people traveling to Boston to see the sites.

In all honesty, don't waste your money on this hotel. Its over rated, over priced and definitely does not stand up to the Starwood name and I'll tell you why. The AC was broken in our room and when we called the front desk to see if it could be fixed, the receptionist was rude to us telling us we had to deal with it until the AC man could come, but he wasn't to be coming for another 5 days! Obviously they couldn't put us in another room. This is the first hotel where I have been to show my ID to get a new room key, they don't even do that in 5 star hotels, who on earth do they think they are? And it took the receptionist 5 minutes to find our reservation. Don't stay here! Seriously, I recommend going for a cheaper and better 2 Star hotel or another 3 Star hotel because this one is not worth your money.

We booked a last minute trip to Boston to see the 4th of July celebration with the Boston Pops. We really enjoyed this trip and the hotel! It was convenient to so many things - walking distance to the public garden and many other attractions. We walked to the banks of the Charles River within about 15 minutes. The service was EXCELLENT! Everyone we encountered was helpful - from our check-in to check-out. We were upgraded to a room with a King-size bed without even having to ask. Even when there were countless people streaming back into the hotel after the 4th of July fireworks (just before midnight), there were staff members there directing some of us to the staff elevators to help us get back to our rooms quickly. The lobby is very beautiful and welcoming. The lobby bar was a nice and comfy place to relax and have a drink and snack. There are also two very good restaurants in the hotel - McCormick & Schmicks as well as Todd English's Bonfire. The beds were very comfortable. The room was quite small, but it wasn't unbearably so. The bathroom did leave a bit to be desired with no counter space - just a ledge above the sink that was quite narrow. The tub/shower was recently re-done and it was nice. We hope to be able to stay at this hotel again.
