"Great Stay at the Park Plaza!"

After reading the string of terrible reviews in the previous months for the Park Plaza, I felt compelled to share my great experience. I just got back from a long weekend at the Park Plaza with the girlfriend and could not of been happier with our experience. We booked through Priceline ($85), and after asking about an updated room, were giving a nice king room on the 12th floor. Given that the hotel was sold out and very busy, it was a smooth and pleasant check in. The location is perfect for those wishing to visit Boston by foot (just a block from the Boston Common and Arlington St. subway stop). The front desk was able to offer quality advice on bars, restaurants, and shopping in the area. And we always felt safe in the neighborhood, even when walking around at night. Give the Park Plaza a chance and you should be pleasantly surprised. Clearly, there is a vast variety of room floorplans in this hotel, but they appear to be willing to work with your needs. I look forward to my next visit.

Very Disappointing

Stayed her for a small week-end getaway. assumed this would be a great hotel to splurge a bit. This was very disappointing. The staff was very rude and seemed to think they were better than the guests. The doorman actually greated and acknowleged the people entering or leaving behind my wife and I. Our first room was the size a of a walk-in closet; we had to walk around the dresser to get into the room. The "queen" bed was in fact a full; we knew because we sleep on one every night. The bathroom was old, outdated and fairly clean. We headed downstairs to change. We were charged an additional $20 for a king room. It was bigger but still outdated and not clean. All-in-all, I will never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone. I have stayed in some historic hotels in NYC and Chicago that were head and shoulders above this hotel. This was a complete disappointment.

The Park Plaza is an old hotel located in a desirable area of Boston for a tourist but the room looked like the year is 1930. It was small and the bath room was tiny. You would get a better room at Motel 6.

Don't leave your Car with the Vallet

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was good quality for the price. I chose to use the valet parking services though which was a huge mistake. When I checked out the valet brought my car around with a gigantic scrape on the lower part of the passenger side of the car. The hotel outsources for their valet parking and this company was in no way considerate of what happened. Not the hotel's fault really, but I wouldn't suggest staying at this hotel if you planned on using the val let parking.
