Hotel Rheinischer Hof - Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany 

We stayed in a small double room at 110 Euros a night. It was so-so...nothing special. The pillows, by the way, were horrible. Bring your own pillows if you wish to get a good night's sleep. The best thing was the restaurant downstairs.

The Rheinischer Hof Hotel in Garmish is a nice small German hotel with good service and nice rooms. Those are the only good things I can say about it. We decided to travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen on a whim during a weekend. The original hotel we tried to get a room in refered us to the Rheinischer Hof. When we arrived we asked if they had any small double rooms. They said they had, and quoted us a price. We agreed and were shown to our room. When we arrived to check out of the hotel the next morning, the bill we were presented with was much higher than what we had agreed to the night before. One of the managers, Kerstin, told us that we had stayed in a larger room which was more expensive. I tried to explain that we hadn't been told that and that we had simply asked for a small double room. The manager was very unappologetic and rude. She also tried to tell us that the hotel was full and we were lucky to have a room at all--AGAIN, this was not what we had been told the night before. We were told that the hotel was filling quickly, but that they still had several rooms left when we checked in. I FEEL THAT WE WERE CHEATED AND LIED TO. THEREFORE, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE WISHING TO MAKE A TRIP TO GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN.
