Kaya Prestige Hotel Izmir - Izmir, Turkey     

I stayed at the Kaya Prestige for two nights as part of a Gate1 tour. The hotel is in a great location. It is a very easy walk to the waterfront, the city center, and the marketplace. The bar staff was the nicest I met in Turkey. I went to the bar with several people on the tour, and the staff was laughing and cutting up with us the entire time. The front desk staff was also very nice and helpful. The room I had was great. It actually was a very large room with three beds, although there were only two of us. The room was very hot, but I had two windows and opened both of them and the room was very comfortable at night. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel, the rooms, and the bathrooms. My biggest complaint about the hotel was the hotel had only two small lifts, and each lift could only hold 5 people. A hotel the size of the Kaya Prestige should have more lifts. There was a great back up of guests each day. I took the stairs because the wait for the elevators was too great. The breakfast buffet was okay, but the dining room was incredibly hot. The Kaya Pretige is a good hotel for tour groups, and I enjoyed the stay, but if I were travelling with family of friends, I would opt for a hotel closer to the waterfront.
