I stay at this hotel 8-15 times a year. The staff is always very friendly. The hotel rooms are immaculately clean. I have always had hot water. Sometimes the noise from other rooms is a little loud but I sleep with earplugs in every hotel I stay at. There is no other Hotel that I know of where you can get a non-smoking room with a fridge and a microwave for a weekend rate of $69.00. I have tried other hotels in the area and none compared as far as value. It's not the Ritz but neither does it claim to be. Great value for the $$

I stayed at the Oak Inn in Richmond Hill, Ontario for 3 weeks while I was employed temporarily at a nearby location. After the first week, I was surprised to get my bill: $350. When I originally enquired about weekly rates, I had thought he said "Three FIFTEEN" (but I was mistaken).
During my stay, a repairman arrived to fix the faucet--it was not broken; he simply wanted to exchange the small plastic cover for another cover with a different pattern. He was wearing dirty work boots and dirty coveralls, so I did not let him enter. On another occasion, a different serviceman tried to enter my room to check the fire suppression system. Even though my door was locked and the "Do Not Disturb" sign was hanging on the doorknob (I worked at night and slept during the day) he used his master key to let himself in.
The room heater quit working after the first day of my stay. Instead of asking for a repair, or another room, I resolved to simply do without heat. Actually, it wasn't so bad; the walls are so poorly insulated that the heat from neighboring rooms was sufficient. However, I could also hear the TV from the next room, which seemed to be permanently tuned to some mindless comedy program.
On the positive side, the room was comfortable and clean. It was provided with clean towels and sheets daily, even when I asked for no room service that day. In fact, the maid even removed my empty beer cans (that I had intended to return for the deposit money).
