We arrived in Istanbul from a cruise ship (the Sea Dream) and went to "our" hotel, the Yesil Ev with our confirmation letter. Because we were going with friends, and they cancelled, the Yesil Ev cancelled us too, without telling us. Luckily, our guide found us a much MUCH better room, #101, at the nearby Blue Hills. We had airconditioning, a view of the Marmara Sea, 4 huge windows, a balcony and a jacuzi, all for one third the price. The lobby is ho hum, but the help at the desk was wonderful and went beyond the call of duty for us. Breakfast was free and plentiful. Our other travelling companions stayed at the Ciragon Palace, and were full of complaints like a $20 diet coke and no airconditioning. We really felt we won on this one!
