Nestled in the heart of Old Istanbul, Hotel Niles is a great home base for exploring the sights of Istanbul. It is located down a side street a few blocks from one of the city's main streets, the tram, and the Grand Bazaar.

The rooms are very large, clean, and comfortable and the rooftop terrace where the free breakfast is served every morning has excellent panoramic views of the city. The room decor is certainly not first rate but has all the amenities you need such as AC, TV, fridge and there is free internet in the lobby.

The aspect that puts the Hotel Niles over the top is the service. The front desk was extremely helpful and kind under all circumstances. We had stayed at their sister hotel, Dersaadet Oteli, the previous four nights and tried to extend for a fifth but they were full. The staff at Dersaadet booked us at the Niles for the fifth night and transported us there for free. Also because we ended up staying more than three nights at their hotels we became eligible for a free transfer to the airport and the staff at both hotels made it a point that we got that free transfer.

The Dersaadet is a little more expensive but is a little more elegant and in a nicer neighborhood while Niles is the better value.

I would not hesitate to stay here again if traveling to Istanbul. Very welcoming stff- especially Seda at the front desk. Beautiful terrace with great breakfast. Rooms extremely clean with a great A/C system. The only think is that we would have appreciated would be better blankets. Great location- only 10 minutes by walking to the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. Close to a tram station. Overall an excellent stay and would stay there again if fortunate enough to go back to Istanbul.
+great location -- near historical sites and the tram
+lovely rooftop terrace with delicious breakfasts
+gracious, attentive staff who are as knowledgeable and capable as they are warm and genuine
