Stayed at this hotel in mid May. The weather was cold during our stay but the room stayed pretty warm. The location is excellent. Two blocks to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. The rooms are small as every one says and there is not a lift to take you up to any of the floors. You have to take your own luggage to the floors. The rooms are very clean, however, the walls are very thin. You can hear other people all the time. We were lucky to get a room on the first floor and so it wasnt too bad. Breakfast was included but it consist of very basic food. Hard boiled eggs, cereal and turkish things. It's basically a snack to get you going. There is a coffee shop around the corner if you want to get your own breakfast and coffee. There is also a small store on the opposite corner for water and other little things. Next door to the hotel is a laundry service. Came in handy for us. The laundry is done by the weight. There are also many restaurants very close by on one of the main streets. The bazarre is near the hotel. Since we were hardly ever in the hotel except for at night time I would stay at this hotel again due to the location. There was no traffic noise on the street as our room was on the street side. I was very surprised that Turkey was more expensive than I thought. The food every where is expensive. The menus at every restaurant are the same. We literally went to 10 different restaurants in a row and all had the same menu. Very interesting.
I was looking for a hotel for my American friend who wanted to visit Turkey. I contacted cosmopolitan park hotel due to the good reviews and nice location, hoping that they have a room. The owner told me they had an available room. Then I asked him how I could reserve the room and he told me to go to the website and fill in the form, which I did as soon as I received his e-mail. After completing the form, the website said that they'll contact me soon but I didn't hear from them for a week. I started getting worried and sent a kind e-mail to him again asking what was going on. And I received a very angry and rude e-mail saying "Miss, As I told you several times (which he NEVER told me), you can't reserve a room unless you pay a deposit through our website and that's why you're not getting confirmation". Being very upset with the answer, I still thought maybe I was mistaken and went to their website checking for the reservation form. There's nothing mentioned about "a deposit" or "you don't get any confirmation until you pay the deposit". If you don't believe me, check the website:http://www.cosmopolitanparkhotel.com/
If you don't want to find out that your room was never reserved when you arrive to Turkey, don't go to this hotel. If the owner acts like this before you reserve a room, I can't imagine the problems that you can encounter once you're there.
