Sultan's Inn details: Sultan's Inn is a well known bed & breakfast hotel with an excellent location at walking distance from all of the historical sights. The rooms are traditionally decorated with all modern facilities and all year round, the open terrace provides a splendid view over both the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea.

Sultan's Inn is situated in the heart of the old walled city, within walking distance of Istanbul's most important Byzantine and Ottoman monuments, such as St. Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern and no more than 15 minutes from the Grand Bazaar. Moreover, in the surrounding area there are many bars and restaurants serving traditional food; shops selling authentic goods; and quality entertainment establishments.

The breakfast is served on the covered top floor terrace with a view over the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea. There are also complimentary hot drinks and cakes on the terrace during the afternoon.

The hotel operates a private airport pick-up service for its guests. This service is EUR 20 for 2 people from the Ataturk airport and EUR 40 for 2 people from the Sabiha Gokcen airport. If you inform the hotel of your flight details you will be greeted by a courteous member of staff who will load your luggage into a mini-van and take you directly to the hotel, at any time of day.

Hotel sultans inn was just what we wanted. The rooms are fairly basic- but have air con which was a god send. The terrace is spectacular. On our first night we bought a bottle of wine and went and sat up on the roof (no service or food in the evenings- so you have to buy your own) and there was a beautiful electrical storm and the call to prayer echoing over the whole city- we'l never forget it! I had read on here that staff can be rude. We found the opposite to be the case. They were friendly and helpful in helping us to get around the city. Its within really easy walking distance of all the majot touristy sights which was useful. I would recomend making a trip north of the horn though too. One tip- DONT BRING TRAVELLORS CHEQUES! nowhere accepts them apart from the main post office- was a real pain!

Stayed three nights: Terrace lovely, but four floors up and no lift! Reception staff a little unwelcoming - but the cost fantastic, our room was clean and as we were only there for a short time, the hotel was situated within walking distance of nearly everything we wanted to see. Building works next door a little noisy - but who stays in their room all day when they are on holiday?? Would visit again and recommend to others.
