Staff were very friendly and from 7am until 8pm every day the receptionist (Ms. Burcu Cayir)was exceptional, always helpful and smiling. The location is of course excellent with only 7 minute walk from the Palace and the main Mosques. The room was not particularly large and the views were limited with surrounding residences pretty shoddy and railroad tracks between hotel and ocean but it proved to be exactly as promised. The dining room food in the evening was great and the breakfast buffet was sufficient.
The hotel is perfectly located. The room we were first given was very small and did not meet our needs, however we were moved into a larger more comfortable room the following day. The overall experience was terrific, I would suggest the rating of 4 star is overstated.
During a recent 3-week trip to Turkey I spent 5 nights at one of the nicest hotels I've ever experienced.
The Hotel Yusuf Pasa Konagi is perfectly located in the old section of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, an easy stroll away from the Blue Mosque, Agia Sophia church, Topkapi Palace and the unforgettable Grand Bazaar with its 4,000 shops.
After a long days sightseeing it was always great to come home to this welcoming hotel. The staff are superb and go out of their way to help you.
My beautifully furnished room was like a small suite with a large and extremely comfortable bed, a seperate sitting area with a table and 2 chairs and some rooms also have a small balcony.
The included breakfast on the rooftop terrace with views of the Sea of Marmara was a treat.
A special feature of this hotel, a fully-restored timber Ottoman mansion, is the lobby. It's like a mini museum beautifully drecorated with lots of interesting Turkish artifacts.
During my time in Turkey I stayed in 8 hotels and the Yusuf Pasa Konagi outshone them all.
The rates are great - check them out,
