The Hotel Nena is a beautiful boutique hotel located conveniently in the Sultanahment, walking distance to all the major attractions (Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Yerbetan Cisterns, Topkapi etc.). The rooftop dining terrace is spectacular in the evening, with a straight line of sight to the Blue Mosque. The staff are wonderful and attentive, the rooms clean and well kept, and the glassed in "sun room/sitting room" in the common area of the downstairs lobby is charming.
We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is very close to the major attractions and good restaurants and the staff was very helpful with directions and information. The room was adquate size but small, old-fashioned TV, and the hair dryers do not work at all(everyone at breakfast had wet hair). Lighting in the room and bathroom was very poor and bathroom was not the cleanest and no tissues. Breakfast was interesting in variety of foods. Incredible view from rooftop terrace.
The standard room was too small. The cleaners did not replenish soaps, shampoos or hand towels every day of our 5 night stay. Breakfast was adequate but ingredients were the same each day. We would have liked a little variety. Roof top renovations was our wake up call even on Sunday. Our biggest beef was the airport transfer. We were picked up free as "honored guests" but had to pay to go back to the airport. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The manager stayed in his office. We won't stay there again because of the breakfast, small rooms and airport transfer polcy.
The hotel was pretty much exactly what I expected on the basis of the information I found in the internet. The location was even better than I expected. I think that the hotel caters to tourists who want a good room for a reasonable price in the vicinity of major tourist attractions, that is, guests who need not indulge in expensive luxury.
