-Amazing roof-top views, -friendly staff, -good-sized, clean rooms, -all tourist attractions within jumping distance! we stayed 3 nights in the spina hotel in the sultanahmet area of istanbul after having a bad experience in another hotel. the hotel building was quite old and retained alot of its character, especially the reception and lobby area. from the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt like home. the staff were very friendly and helpful. i travelled with my wife and little boy (19mths), and the turks love children, this particular hotel showed true turkish hospitality. the double room was large, bright, nicely decorated and clean. the corner bath with fitted shower was loved by the baby at bath times. although the a/c could have been better and the remote control to the tv was not supplied, but the location of the hotel was fantastic just round the corner from the blue mosque, aya sofia, hippodrome, arasta bazaar, sheesha cafe, dervish cafe, numerous retaurants and short stroll to the topkapi palace, hence we didn't have much time to watch bbc primetime. the hotel service were very prompt and efficient when we were in need of something (iron, room cleaning etc). lastly, the roof top retaurant where breakfast was served was out of this world in regards to the views, the food was not bad either. the blue mosque and aya sofia seemed like touching distance and calming sea of marmara on the other side, what better place to have breakfast. overall, a very enjoyable stay, would definitely go again.

Having seen the spectacular photos on the website, myself and my fiance were very excited at staying at this hotel. We arrived late in the evening 28/12/07 and were given room 206 which consisted of 2 small rooms, one containing the bed and the bathroom, the other was room contained a table, some chairs, the wardrope and the television. The set made us clostrophic, and also the bathroom fan was very noicy. We asked for another room that evening but unfotunately the hotel was full. The following day, the staff was very helpful in giving us a better room, room 203. Unfornately, room 203 had a small gap in the door such that part of the inside of the room could be seen from outside. It made us unconfortable so we stuck plastic bags over it and accepted it, we need not mention this to the staff of the hotel as our mission in Istanbul was not to find all the faults of the Spina Hotel but was to discover this amazing city. It really is an amazing city, i would strongly recommend Istanbul. With regards to the Spina Hotel, see the attached photos and you decide, but we certainly would not be staying there again.

Tienen una situacion inmejorable al lado mismo de la Mezquita Azul y Santa Sofia. Habitaciones espaciosas. El sesayuno no es muy abundante, pero tiene quesos y embutidos tipicos.Las vistas son impresionantes!!!
