This hotel is two blocks from the central transportation station and besides being clean is the only good thing going for it. You know it is a bad sign when you first enter and guests are leaving early to go to another hotel. I really hated this hotel. They have a huge unleashed smelly dog that is the only one welcoming you as the reception hardly spoke English and were really horrible. I had a sprained ankle and the owner wouldn't give me a couple of pieces of ice that they had in their bar, nor are they willing to lend you an iron for your clothes. The showers are too tiny to fit into even for a really small build, so ask for one with a curtain if your a man or average size as they have ones the same size but with a curtain instead. Unfortunately once that is solved, you just have to deal with bad plumbing problems. The beds are actually cots and there is no TV in the room. In Palermo, having a TV is important because you don't want to stay outside after 9pm. It is just not safe and hardly anyone does. Even the restaurants start closing and putting up their armoured doors by 10pm. Whatever you do, don't have breakfast here. They will charge you 6 euros for a basket of bread and jam, no juice or water, and serve you a horrible cup of coffee. It is better to go to the bar/cafe just up the street and get a good cup of coffee and pastry for 3 euros. I booked this hotel because it was convenient for transportation, but this is not necessary as every bus has to make its way here. The area is not that nice and lacks restaurants and internet points. It is better to stay someplace central like Politeama where you have shopping, restaurants, things to see and do. You can catch a bus less than 2 minutes apart in that piazza that will take you to central station within 5 minutes. Palermo is really a beautiful city full of wonderful architecture, Baroque statues and stunning churches.
