4First impressions of hotel were not very good. Tucked up a narrow, dirty side street. Once inside, an oasis in the middle of an old, sprawling town. Management very helpful and polite.
Small problem, I have limited mobility and had requested a downstairs room. Was put up four flights of stairs in the old part of the hotel. Next morning, requested a move to a downstairs apartment and this was sorted out the following day. Was moved to a two room apartment for an additional cost of 68 TL for six nights.. Spacious and very clean.
Good points.
Through reception, down a few steps to a lovely outdoor garden area, with pool, childrens pool, tables and chairs and sun loungers. Outdoor bar. Very adequate breakfast (but no cearel or toast) and evening meal was eaten outside. Hubble bubble smoking area for the night time, for anybody who wanted to indulge!
All staff very polite and helpful. Special mention to Mohammed on the reception desk and Rammi, barman in outside bar. Worked seven days a week. Did that man ever sleep? Started with assisting laying out the brealfast in the morning, putting out sun lougers, takng orders for food during the day, laying tables outside for evening meal, serving main course and bringing drinks to tables. The list is endless. If you couldn't remember your room number for the dinks tab , he could! Most nights, he was there till gone midnight.
Room cleaned and new towels put out every day. Free air conditioning which worked well (one day it was 47 degrees C).
Any problems with rooms were sorted out immediately.
Cheap taxis everywhere. Round corner from main town.
Bad points
Pool was immediately down steps from reception, with childrens pool at side by deep end.
Patio area in outside garden by pool was extremely slippery when wet. I fell over and saw several other people do the same. It was hosed down every night, but sometimes wasn't dry when people came down for dinner.
Fruit trees in outside garden. Very pretty, but when fruit fell on patio floor, it made walking on it very dangerous.
Not enough handrails down flights of stairs, inside and outside hotel complex.
Electrical sockets in bathroom. Wouldn't be allowed in this country.
No currency exchange in hotel.
All in all, you get what you pay for. We paid ?274.00 each for eight days bed, breakfast and evening meal.
I went with a party of five other people. Would we go back. You bet we would.
