Location

Pécs, a historic town in southern Hungary, is beautifully situated at the foot of the Mecsek mountains. It has a Mediterranean climate. In the days of Roman rule it was already a successful settlement, capital of southern Pannonia under the name Sopianae.

We had a fantastic 4 nights here. Our room was comfortable, tidy and spotlessly clean, the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location can't be beaten (right in the centre of town). We even had a little balcony overlooking the arcade which leads to the hotel entrance. The breakfast was a little bit disappointing - a good selection, but some of the fruit was a little "tired-looking". We would definitely use the Palatinus again if returning to Pecs.

Situé rue Kiraly, en plein centre-ville, le Palatinus est un hôtel de haut niveau. Nous y avons passés deux nuits début septembre 2007. La façade et l’entrée sont superbes, le lobby est celui d'un hôtel de classe. L'accueil y est chaleureux, particulièrement le jeune homme chargé de porter les bagages. La chambre était élégante et très propre, la literie et le mobilier aussi. La salle de bains confortable. Quant au petit déjeuner, il était royal, c'est bien simple il y avait à peu près tout ce que l'on pouvait désirer. C'est une excellente adresse. Laurent Lemaitre (www.laulem.net)
