Location

León owns many impressive monuments, from outstanding medieval to avant-garde modern buildings.

The most notable monuments are the Rayonnant gothic Cathedral, with its excellent stain glassed windows, the Basilica of San Isidoro, with its tombs of the Kings of León and fine Romanesque paintings, and the old monastery of San Marcos (currently a luxurious hotel) with an exuberant plateresque facade.

Palacio de los Guzmanes, the site of the provincial parliament, contains an impressive patio in the plateresque style by Gil de Hontañón. The old quarter of the city conserves a large part of the medieval wall and some remains of the original Roman wall. You can also find the Casa de Botines, a neogothic styled building and an excellent example of the architecture of Antoni Gaudí.

Other points of interest include the Barrio Humedo which is the drinking and partying area in the city.

Mi mujer y yo hemos estado hace poco en este hotel de León, España. Nos gustó tanto que decidimos quedarnos más de lo que habíamos planeado. El personal del hotel era muy amable y atento. Nuestra habitación (la 211) era muy moderna, limpia y cómoda (ver foto). Nuestra única queja sería del ruido de la calle. Las ventanas no lo amortiguaban nada, pero con tapones para los oídos se dormía muy bien. Si no os molestan este tipo de cosas, os recomiendo el hotel encarecidamente. Tened en cuenta que por la zona no suelen saber inglés, así que dadle un repaso al español antes de salir de viaje.

La ubicación del hotel es inmejorable. Es un hotel sencillo, algo antiguo, limpio y sin ningún lujo. Las habitaciones no están bien aisladas y se oyen ruidos, pero no es algo exagerado. El personal del hotel es atento y considero que para ir un fin de semana es un hotel perfecto, siempre que se vaya buscando algo sencillo, cómodo y a buen precio. Sí volveria al hotel porque solo con su ubicación gana mucho, y Leon es una ciudad que te ofrece mucho como para pasar demasiado tiempo en el hotel....
