Vincci Taj Sultan - Hammamet, Tunisia 

We arrived on July 2008, we did book a room for 2 adult and 2 childrens, when we ask for it in the reception they told us that there is none available at the moment so they upgrated us to a suite we were very happy intill the reception manager pop in and said that this will be for one night only and 2moro they will find us another room, we were very upset us we don't want to pack and unpack our suitcase, so we requested to find us an immidiate solution wich he did for a room with double bed only, no apology was given to us for the inconvinience, late afternoon and after swuiming in the sea we went for the shower to find out that it licks and no water coming out from the shower head, we called reception and we were expecting a quick fix from a 5 star hotel, 4 days later and the shower is not fixed, at that point I did request to speak to the general manager and he did a least apologize and offer us a room move for the 2nd time, at this point I did ask for a compensation, the lady in the reception was very helpful and upgrated us from 1/2 board to full board, I was thinking at that time that the manager autorize that and I was happy with it, 2moro I found out that this was not autorized and the receptionnist in question was in trouble because of that and since then I have not seen her, May be she lost her job, I did ask about her and i was told that it's her days off????? never know, few days later we found a poo in the swuiming pool, very nice, and the indoor swuiming pool had a mark that it's deep is at 1m55, my wife she is 1m81, she went into the water and she nearly drown, as the mesurement was wrong i called the manager and they did check it and it was 2m. more trouble happen if i continue we wil be more chocked of the service in this 5 star hotel. be careful as they have a wedding room that always end up with a fight in the car park of the hotel. We arrived early afternoon, reception staff were a little slow but not rude. Our room was lovely - sea view which we had paid for in advance. We experienced no problems at the hotel at all. The restaurant, bar and entertainment stafff were all very friendly and helpful. The food did get a little boring but when you can take a 20 min stroll and can have a 3 course meal with wine for less then ?20 a head whats the big deal! The food in the restaurant was hot and plenty of choices with specials being served every night. The pool was fantastic as was the beach area. The hotel was clean and tidy and the evening entertainment funny - sometimes a little cheesy but the piano bar offers a peaceful relaxing environment away from the "live" entertainment. The beer was always served very cold and the staff always very attentive. We had a fantastic holiday and would certainly return. If your idea of a holiday is egg and bacon and 5 star London style - don't go to Tunisia. The hotel is probably on level with a 3 star in England.
